wonderful composition, it gives the painting depth and your use of the highlights/light colored details is very powerful in that big almost monochrome blue around it. i can totally tell it's oil. oils just so some things acrylics can never do. i started out painting with oils and this year was the first time i started with acrylics and my true love is still oils. it just feels right. and i do not like translucent paint or thin paint, etc. the colors aren't so garish and i like my brush strokes to show a lot. and it seems like more of a old fashioned ritual since they take so long to dry, are expensive paints, ruins anything and everything near by, ruins your brushes, requires stinky mineral spirits...etc. but it is still my love. sorry for the ramble! i really like this piece!

Thank you so much for the lovely comment! :heart: Ya, I tried acrylics too, but they didn't seem as powerful as oils to me. I like paint that I can lay on thick. :aww:
